Solskjaer Reveals Date For Ronaldo’s Debut

Fans and critics of Portuguese forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, will have to wait till September 11, when Manchester United will play host to Newcastle for his (Ronaldo’s) debut, AFP reports

Ronaldo, 36, played for Manchester United from 2003 to 2009 as well.

Ronaldo’s move back to United must be completed before the summer transfer window closes on Tuesday night and Solskjaer is unsurprisingly excited by the prospect of having his former team-mate on board.

Speaking on Sunday after the Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Ole gave this update on the much-celebrated news.

“Of course the fans have been excited for the last couple of days, we all are of course,” said the boss. “He has had such a great career and he has been here before. Hopefully we can just finalise the paperwork and announce it. He is going to give everybody a boost, of course. I played with him, he’s a great player, he is a top human being, he is a top professional, so he will give everybody in the squad and everybody around the club a buzz.”

In a separate interview with Sky Sports, Solskjaer went on to discuss the impact that Ronaldo will have on our strikers and the squad as a whole.

“I think everyone’s looking forward to having Cristiano in and the paperwork done,” said the boss. “I think it just adds more confidence and belief in what we’re doing.

“We’re gradually improved and improved and signed younger players. Now we’ve signed Jadon, who is also a young player and Raphael who is experienced and won everything. Now hopefully Cristiano can come in and show what he’s done in his career.

“He’s a more experienced player than when he was here last time. He’s evolved and had an unbelievable career. All the talk about how he’s too old just make it personal and he’ll show what he can do.”

The 30 percent of the assets of the late legendary footballer Pele will go to his wife, according to his will disclosed by his lawyer.

The will states that Marcia Cibele Aoki, Pele’s third and last wife, will inherit his mansion in Guaruja, a seaside resort town south of Sao Paulo, where the couple lived, according to her lawyer Luiz Kignel.

Other assets belonging to Pele, who died after battling cancer in late December at age 82, include more real estate and a stake in the Pele brand, Kignel said, adding that a complete inventory has yet to be made.

The remaining 70 percent is reserved for Pele’s children, including an unrecognized daughter that he may have.

“He indicated the possibility of the existence of another daughter, whose recognition will depend on a DNA test, which could not be carried out (on Pele) due to the pandemic and the state of his health,” said Kignel.

According to Kignel, the woman in question is a Brazilian national and she has taken legal steps to be recognized as Pele’s daughter.

In September 2022, a court in Sao Paulo ordered Pele to submit to a DNA test, according to the G1 website. The test must now be performed on one of his seven recognized children.
