Actress Elvina Ibru tests positive for COVID-19

Actress cum musician, Elvina Ibru, has tested positive for COVID-19.

The entertainer, who disclosed this on her official Instagram page on Tuesday, said she has been in isolation and taking her medication since her status was confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

She appealed to Nigerians to take all necessary precautions to avoid contracting the COVID-19, saying the virus is real.

Ibru wrote: “I just want to tell all of you that walk around without face masks or hand sanitizers that COVID-19 is real and I’m currently battling the virus.

“I have been in one room all by myself. I can’t even hug my son, sisters, brother or any of my family members.

“Anybody can contract COVID-19 and I don’t think it’s something to be ashamed of or kept from the public. It’s better to let the people out there know that this is serious and it does exist.

“I am very lucky to be able to make a video to let everyone know that this is true. Two days ago I couldn’t even do anything because I was constantly coughing and I was in a very bad state.

“This virus could have gotten anywhere because I was certain I made sure I stayed at home and avoided some gatherings and parties too but yet I still got the virus.

“Please I Urge everyone to be careful out there, COVID-19 is real, and make sure you are doing everything possible to be safe.”

How My Mother Lost Two Husbands Before She Turned 37 - Onyeka Onwenu

Veteran Nollywood actress and songstress, Onyeka Onwenu has revealed how her late mother lost her husbands at the early stage of her life.

Onwenu who lost her mother, Hope Onwenu 11 years ago at the age of 92-years said before her late mother met her father at the age of 37, she had already lost two men she had earlier married.

Onyeka Onwenu who stated this in a chat with a news outlet, described her late mother as a strong, powerful and incredible woman.

She wrote:

“My mother, by aged 37, had lost two husbands. The first husband died just a year after the marriage.”

Furthermore, the singer who is also the mother of two said:

“My mother had my elder sister just 8 days after her husband died. And the family took the child away from her because she refused to marry her late husband’s younger brother. So, she could not have access to her daughter for many years”

“After some years, she was also married to one of the wealthiest men in town but at the end of the day, she lost him without inheriting anything. This woman never gave up as she married again to my father who was a self-made man and just when she would relax and have a good life he was involved in a motor accident and died.”

Having lost her father, Dickson Kanu Onwenu, at a tender age, the female song writer said she grew up seeing her widowed mother catering to her five children, and this is why she always gets involved and emotional when it comes to helping widows.

Sonnie Badu who stated this while sharing a picture of the late singer and his wife, Ozzy Okposo thanked her for being her husband’s shock absorber during his moments of trials.

Recently wedded Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic has expressed how the visa ban placed on Nigerians by the government of the United Arab Emirates, almost shattered her dream of having her desired white wedding which eventually took place in London on Saturday.

The actress stated this in a post she shared on her Instagram account, to thank her colleagues and others who made her wedding a memorable event.

Rita Dominic who has now included her husband’s surname, Anosike   in her bio on Instagram,  specifically mentioned her dress designer for going the extra mile  to make her wedding dress even though they were far apart.

The actress said, “Thank God for a beautiful weekend full of love and joy. Thank you to #michael5inco for making my dream wedding gown. It was lot of hard work and patience since we were in two different countries.
